Thoughts from the Week: 1/13/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Jesus assures His followers that they can withstand any temptation.

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” - 1 Corinthians 10:13

Jesus cannot be served by someone who is serving self.

“You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.” - 1 Corinthians 10:21

A believer should not allow their liberty in Jesus to hinder fellow believer’s walk with Jesus.

“Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31

Believers should live so that they model Jesus before others.

“Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.” - 1 Corinthians 11:1

If a person chooses to object to the teachings of the Bible then they have no other life option available to them.

“But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.” - 1 Corinthians 11:16

Spiritual gifts are manifestations of the Holy Spirit for the good of all of the Body of Christ.

“But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” - 1 Corinthians 12:7

The manifestation gifts of the Holy Spirit are given according to the will of the Spirit.

“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.” - 1 Corinthians 11:11
