Thoughts from the Week: 9/23/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Upon hearing Jesus’ words, a good disciple obeys.

“Now why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46

Humility practiced is faith empowered.

“for that reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You; but just say the word, and my servant shall be healed.” Luke 7:7

A born-again believer’s eternal family are those who in faith hear and obey Jesus.

“But He answered and said to them, ‘My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.’” Luke 8:21

Any power and authority one possesses comes from Jesus to whom we will be held accountable.

“Now He called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all the demons, and the power to heal diseases.” Luke 9:1

Assured hope produces bold faith.

“Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” Luke 10:20

I am to faithfully pray until the answer comes.

“I tell you, even if he will not get up and give him anything just because he is his friend, yet because of his shamelessness he will get up and give him as much as he needs..” Luke 11:8

We will have no secrets when we stand before Jesus.

“But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.” Luke 12:2-3
