Meditating on Jesus’ Goodness

Dear Beloved in Jesus,

It is a beautiful day and one which we know is flowing with grace from Jesus.  The opportunities to live for the King abound and with it His grace and blessings abound.  He has blessed His followers with everything needed today to live by faith and walk in His light.

In reading through Psalms, I was encouraged and challenged with two verses in chapter 52.  Verse 8 begins praising the Lord for His bountiful blessings.  The reference to a green olive tree is a picture of His everlasting lovingkindness.  He has been, is, and will be faithful to all those who call on Him.

“But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.” Psalm 52:8

Once Jesus’ blessings are acknowledged and an offering of grateful praise is offered the believer’s heart swells in faith and trust in the Lord.  Joy, peace, love fills the heart as goodness, kindness, and gentleness flow from one’s life.

“But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.” Psalm 52:8

The believer’s heart cheerfully gives thanks over and over again as it is filled with the awesomeness of Jesus and His love for all mankind.  The enormity of His blessed grace overwhelms each of His followers.

“I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, and I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.” Psalm 52:9

As believers joyously go through each day their faith in Jesus grows as He continually works in and through their life.  Their trust in Him allows them to anticipate and wait on His goodness.

“I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, and I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.” Psalm 52:9

And O, the joy we find in His presence and the presence of His bride, the church.  There is nothing like meeting together with other believers worshiping our Savior.  The joy and excitement of praising and testifying together.  Nothing in this world can match the experience of corporate worship.

“I will give You thanks forever, because You have done it, and I will wait on Your name, for it is good, in the presence of Your godly ones.” Psalm 52:9

So let us remember and meditate on His goodness.  Let us trust Him with a thankful heart.  And let us sit quietly in the presence of Jesus.
