Thoughts from the Week: 6/16/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Because Jesus died for all, then all are to be greeted and treated the same by His Bride.

“My brothers and sisters, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.” James 2:1

The intent of the Body of Christ’s heart is revealed in how it treats others.

“have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?” James 2:4

Faith in Jesus changes a believer's lifestyle and purpose.

“In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.”  James 2:17

Works of faith perfect our faith.

“You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;” James 2:22

A person's tongue pridefully boasts of the intent of that person's heart.

“So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things.” James 3:5

It is hypocritical to speak of good and evil with the same tongue.

“from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brothers and sisters, these things should not be this way.” James 3:10

A wise person gently and wisely works for good.

“Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.” James 3:13
