Thoughts from the Week: 6/9/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

There is ultimate security in the faithfulness of Jesus.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

All hope is tied to faith in Jesus, not this world.

“For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.” Hebrews 13:14

Jesus is pleased with a life of faith and praise.

“And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”  Hebrews 13:16

The Holy Spirit makes it possible to live in joy despite hard times.

“Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials,” James 1:2

The testing of faith results in a life complete in every way.

“knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:3-4

The flesh leads into temptation, while the Spirit leads into fullness of life.

“But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.” James 1:14

A loose tongue sprouts from a worthless belief system and is connected to a deceived heart.

“If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.” James 1:26
