Thoughts from the Week: 1/27/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Our service and labor for Jesus’ Kingdom is done only by His grace and power.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10

Opportunities for ministry of the gospel are always accompanied by adversaries of the gospel.

“for a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Corinthians 16:9

Our faith and ministry for Jesus are to be strong and firm, clothed in love.

“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

The fellowship of the saints is a refreshing of the spirit.

“For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.” 1 Corinthians 16:18

Remembering Jesus’ past deliverances sustains our hope in His present and future deliverances.

“who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us.” 2 Corinthians 1:10

We are to live with a clear conscience in holiness and sincerity by God’s wisdom and grace.

“For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.” 2 Corinthians 1:12

Forgiving others in the Body of Christ takes away any advantage Satan may have within the Body.

“But one whom you forgive anything, I forgive also; for indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ, so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.” 2 Corinthians 2:10-11
