Thoughts from the Week: 10/21/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

We must remember that Jesus does not need us, we need Him.

“The God who made the world and everything that is in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;” Acts 17:24-25

A heart of repentance and faith are basic to the Christian life.

“how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was beneficial, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20:21

Peace with God is a clear conscience before God.

“Now looking intently at the Council, Paul said, ‘Brothers, I have lived my life with an entirely good conscience before God up to this day.’” Acts 23:1

Corporate sharing of faith encourages all believers.

“that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.” Romans 1:12

Jesus is not concerned with our appearance, ability or resources but with the humility of our hearts, the belief of our minds, and the obedience of our lives.

“For there is no partiality with God.” Romans 2:11

No one can boast when standing before Jesus.

“For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about; but not before God.” Romans 4:2

Peace with Jesus is found in our right standing before Jesus.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” Romans 5:1
