Thoughts from the Week: 7/15/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

The Lord’s followers should pay attention and listen to Him.

“Give attention to me, my people, and give ear to me, my nation; for a law will go out from me, and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples.’” Isaiah 51:4

There is joy and peace at the altar of prayer.

“these I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” Isaiah 56:7

A revived heart comes from the Lord.

“For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations.” Isaiah 61:11

Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a state of peaceful rest.

“Like livestock that go down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD gave them rest. So you led your people, to make for yourself a glorious name.” Isaiah 63:14

A Spirit filled person is nurtured on the knowledge and understanding of the Lord.

“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15

We often only treat the symptoms of our sin not the root cause.

“They have healed the wound of My people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.” Jeremiah 6:14
