Thoughts from the Week: 6/3/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Jesus preserves His followers.

“He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of His saints.” Proverbs 2:7-8

It is Jesus who gives a person a sound mind and wisdom.

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding;” Proverbs 2:6

Speaking one’s mind is not always a wise thing to do.

“Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life; he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.” Proverbs 13:3

An encouraging word uplifts an anxious heart.

“Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.” Proverbs 12:25

The motives of one’s heart is of great importance to Jesus.

“All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.” Proverbs 16:2

All the plans do not matter, God’s will does.

“Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21

One’s integrity is more valuable than amassed wealth.

“A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.” Proverbs 22:1
