Thoughts from the Week: 4/29/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

When in the presence of Jesus it is foolish to hid behind a mask since He knows each person’s heart.

“For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.” Psalm 1:6

Jesus exalts and protects a humble heart.

“But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.” Psalm 3:3

Do right and trust Jesus.

“Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.” Psalm 4:5

A heart of gratitude is a heart of proclamation and praise.

“I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.  I will rejoice and be jubilant in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” Psalm 9:1-2

The Words of Jehovah are not only true, they are pure.

“The words of the Lord are pure words; like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, filtered seven times.” Psalm 12:6

Worshiping any god but Jesus only leads to sorrow.

“The pains of those who have acquired another god will be multiplied; I will not pour out their drink offerings of blood, nor will I take their names upon my lips.” Psalm 16:4

My integrity and righteousness are evident in my patient waiting on Jesus.

“Let integrity and uprightness protect me, for I wait for You.” Psalm 25:21
