Thoughts from the Week: 4/22/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Though life may not always turn out according to one’s plans, Jesus is always faithful.

“My days are past; my plans are broken off, the desires of my heart.” Job 17:11

A person will be overtaken by their sin if they do not deal with it.

“His strong steps are shortened, and his own schemes throw him down.” Job 18:7

Jesus is not benefited by a person’s wisdom or strength.

“Can a man be profitable to God?......” Job 22:2

There are no regrets in a life of righteous integrity.

“I hold fast my righteousness and will not let it go; my heart does not reproach me for any of my days.” Job 27:6

Even the dead tremble at the awesomeness of Yahweh.

“The dead tremble under the waters and their inhabitants.  Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering.” Job 26:5-6

Each person was fashioned by Yahweh in the same way.

“Did not He who made me in the womb make him?  And did not One fashion us in the womb?” Job 31:15

Since wisdom and understanding come from Yahweh, then only experience comes from age.

“But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.” Job 12:13
