Thoughts from the Week: 1/7/22
Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!
Be blessed this week,
Pastor Hugh
The day of obedience to the Lord is the day of deliverance from bondage.
“All the people of Israel did just as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron. And on that very day the Lord brought the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts.” Exodus 12:50-51
Hope in Jesus is the assurance of a born-again believer’s life.
"Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you…If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be My disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in My love.” John 15:3, 7-9
God’s favor toward His children is distinct and evident.
“Thus I will put a division between my people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall happen.” Exodus 8:23
Boldness for the Lord allows His followers to stand and speak before the leaders of this world.
”the Lord said to Moses, ‘I am the Lord; tell Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you.’” Exodus 6:29
Yahweh is faithful to His Word.
“I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. I will give it to you for a possession. I am the Lord.’” Exodus 6:8
Hope in the Lord securely anchors one’s soul.
“But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts. So Pharaoh's heart remained hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the Lord had said.” Exodus 7:22
I do not need to waste today on frivolous stuff but need to live today involved in eternal things.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16
