Thoughts from the Week: 10/29/21

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

There is a need for born-again believers to regularly return to their place of worship and to call upon Jesus.

“He went on his journeys from the Negev as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, to the place of the altar which he had made there formerly; and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.” Genesis 13:3-4

To know oneself is to humble oneself before God.

"And Abraham replied, ‘Now behold, I have ventured to speak to the Lord, although I am but dust and ashes.” Genesis 18:27

The works of God are such that they cannot be explained nor accredited to people.

“He said, ‘I will surely return to you at this time next year; and behold, Sarah your wife will have a son.’  And Sarah was listening at the tent door, which was behind him.  Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; Sarah was past childbearing.” Genesis 18:10-11

The presence of Jesus surrounds us so that there is nothing nor no one that we should fear today.

“After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Do not fear, Abram,
I am a shield to you; your reward shall be very great.’” Genesis 15:1

There is nothing impossible for God to accomplish.

“ And the Lord said to Abraham, ‘Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, when I am so old?’  Is anything too difficult for the Lord?  At the appointed time I will return to you, at this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.’” Genesis 18:13-14
