Thoughts from the Week: 9/19/21

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Since Jesus is revealed in the Scriptures, then one’s faith in Him is defended by the Scriptures.

“When he wanted to cross over to Achaia, the brothers and sisters wrote to the disciples to welcome him. After he arrived, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed. For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public, demonstrating through the Scriptures that Jesus is the Messiah.” - Acts 18:27-28 (CSB)

The indwelling Spirit of Jesus provides the strength needed for today.

“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength.” - Ephesians 6:10 (CSB)

The faith in Jesus of a born-again believer is not a secret thing.

“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you because the news of your faith is being reported in all the world.” - Romans 1:8 (CSB)

Peace with God is possible through the blood of Jesus and the faith of man.

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…. But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” - Romans 5:1 & 8 (CSB)

If a person loves his or her neighbor as they love themselves then they will have no problem obeying Jesus.

“Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.” - Romans 13:10 (CSB)
