Thoughts from the Week: 5/19/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Jesus tasted death so that people of faith would not have to experience it for themselves.

“But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of His suffering death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.” Hebrews 2:9

If Jesus considers each believer as a brother or sister, then indeed we are all brothers and sisters in God’s family.

“For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,” Hebrews 2:11

Jesus’ power over temptation and sin is a help when we are tempted to sin.

“For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.” Hebrews 2:18

Jesus’ faithfulness to God helps believers to be faithful in all things.

“He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.” Hebrews 3:2

Till Jesus comes we should hold tightly to our faith and boast only of our hope in Him.

“but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house—whose house we are, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the boast of our hope.” Hebrews 3:6

Jesus is the guarantee of one’s forgiveness and salvation.

“by the same extent Jesus also has become the guarantee of a better covenant..” Hebrews 7:22
