Thoughts from the Week: 2/24/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Yielding to the opinions of others can lessen the Gospel of Jesus the Christ.
“But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.” Galatians 2:5

Faith in God produces the righteousness of God in a believer’s life.
“Even so Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” Galatians 3:6

Jesus is an excellent time manager.
“But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,” Galatians 4:4

Why would any believer give up their freedom in Christ to once again become a slave to sin?
“But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?” Galatians 4:9

False teachers desire the praise and honor of others.
“They eagerly seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out so that you will seek them.” Galatians 4:17

In love and mercy we should admonish believers who walk in their flesh and worldliness to humbly repent and walk in the Spirit of Jesus..
“Brethren, even if [a]anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.” Galatians 6:1

When we begin to think that we have arrived spiritually, in reality we are walking faithlessly in the flesh not the Spirit.
“For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.” Galatians 6:3
