Thoughts from the Week: 3/25/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Conviction of revealed sin stirs me to humility and repentance before the Lord.

“Go, consult the Lord for me, for the people, and for all Judah, about the words of this book that has been found, for the rage of the Lord has been set furiously ablaze against us, because our ancestors did not obey the words of this book, nor do what is written for us.” 2 Kings 22:13

Zeal for God will produce a zeal for the place where He is worshiped.

“He did what was right in the Lord’s sight, walking in the way of David his father, not turning right or left….Then have him turn them over to the master workers in the house of the Lord, and have them give them to the ordinary workers who are in the house of the Lord to repair its breaches:”  2 Kings 22:2 & 5

We are to surround ourselves with the peace of the Spirit and leave vengeance to God.

“David went out to meet them and addressed them in these words: ‘If you come peacefully, to help me, I am of a mind to have you join me. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our ancestors see and punish you.’” 1 Chronicles 12:18

When Jesus assembles His church, they are equipped by the Holy Spirit to minister and battle in spiritual warfare.

“They helped David by taking charge of his troops, for they were all warriors and became commanders of his army. And from day to day men kept coming to David’s help until there was a vast encampment, like God’s own encampment..” 1 Chronicles 12:22-23

There should be a constant reviving of my heart before the Lord.

“Seek the Lord and His strength; seek his presence continually!” 1 Chronicles 16:11

Even today we find that our blessings from God are wrapped up in His promises to Abraham.

“And David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, and that his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of his people Israel.” 1 Chronicles 14:2

Our day should begin, continue, and end with grateful praise to the Lord.

“And they were to stand every morning, thanking and praising the Lord, and likewise at evening,” 1 Chronicles 23:30
