Thoughts from the Week: 2/18/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Even though it has not been experienced yet, all that Yahweh has promised He will accomplish.

“all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians. I myself will drive them out from before the people of Israel. Only allot the land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.” Joshua 13:6

Since appearances can be deceptive I should always ask counsel of the LORD.

"“Here is our bread. It was still warm when we took it from our houses as our food for the journey on the day we set out to come to you, but now, behold, it is dry and crumbly. These wineskins were new when we filled them, and behold, they have burst. And these garments and sandals of ours are worn out from the very long journey.” So the men took some of their provisions, but did not ask counsel from the Lord.” Joshua 9:12-14

When God opens a door of opportunity and keeps it open, then we should not drag our feet to enter in.

“So Joshua said to the people of Israel, ‘How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?’” Joshua 18:3

I am to draw close to and hold fast to Him each day.

” but you shall cling to the Lord your God just as you have done to this day.” Joshua 23:8

I am to abundantly persevere in my love for the Lord.

“Be very careful, therefore, to love the Lord your God.” Joshua 23:11

Jesus is my point man who goes before me assuring success.

“And Deborah said to Barak, ‘Up! For this is the day in which the Lord has given Sisera into your hand. Does not the Lord go out before you?’ So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with 10,000 men following him.” Judges 4:14

In my repentance the mercy of the Lord relieves my misery.

“So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and He became impatient over the misery of Israel.” Judges 10:16
