Thoughts from the Week: 6/30/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

A person’s salvation is kept secure by the power of God.

“who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:5

A person’s faith is proven by the trials of their life.

“so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;” 1 Peter 1:7

Firm faith which endures the trials of life ends with salvation realized.

“obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:9

Upon having experienced the kindness of Jesus, there is a longing of the heart for more.

“and like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.” 1 Peter 2:2-3

Jesus set an example to follow, even in times of suffering.

“For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps,” 1 Peter 2:21

We can endure all things when we entrust ourselves to Jesus.

“and while being abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;” 1 Peter 2:23

Husbands should honor and favor their wives as sisters in grace.

“You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.” 1 Peter 3:7
