Thoughts from the Week: 5/26/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Jesus’ eternality secures our salvation for eternity.

“Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.” Hebrews 7:24

The indwelling Holy Spirit is the indwelling living word of God.

“For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel   After those days, declares the Lord:  I will put My laws into their minds, And write them on their hearts. And I will be their God, And they shall be My people.,” Hebrews 8:10

The blood of Jesus clears one’s conscience before God.

“how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:14

The cleansing of sin and justification by faith removes the sin from one’s consciousness.

“Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins? Hebrews 10:2

Completeness in Jesus is an eternal completeness for the believer.

“For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.” Hebrews 10:14

Because Jesus is eternally faithful we should also strive to be faithful eternally.

“Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;” Hebrews 10:23

Choosing to remain in sin after hearing of Jesus’ sacrifice is for a person to remain on their own before a Holy God.

“For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,” Hebrews 10:26
