Thoughts from the Week: 4/28/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

A born-again believer’s life pursuit is Christlikeness.
“Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22

The closer we move toward Jesus’ return the greater need there will be to stand firm in the Spirit of Jesus.
“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.” 2 Timothy 3:1

Godliness without Godly power is just a façade of Christianity.
“holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these.” 2 Timothy 3:5

Through His Word Jesus prepares His followers for anything He desires them to accomplish.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

It is not social fads nor personal desires which we should pay attention to but to the authoritative holy truth of God.
“For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires,” 2 Timothy 4:3

A believer’s focus in life is the fulfillment of Jesus’ calling on their life.
“But as for you, use self-restraint in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” 2 Timothy 4:5
