Thoughts from the Week: 3/3/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

By the power of the Holy Spirit everything spiritual the Father has to offer has been received by the believer.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,” Ephesians 1:3

Everything God does has a purpose in His divine will.
“also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will,” Ephesians 1:11

The Holy Spirit is the believer’s guarantee that they have been marked and set apart to Jesus for all eternity.
“In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

No one whose life is based in the thoughts and ways of the flesh will be in God’s kingdom.
“For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.” Ephesians 5:5

A person’s words of grace which are not backed up with a life of grace are just empty deceitful words.
“Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” Ephesians 5:6

The Light of God exposes the repulsive ugliness of sin.
“For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.” Ephesians 5:13
