Thoughts from the Week: 2/3/23

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

The authenticity of our ministry is the fruit that it bears.

“You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men; being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

Great hope fuels great boldness.

“Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech,” 2 Corinthians 3:12

Repentance can happen only when the heart is unveiled and the Lord is acknowledged.

“But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.” 2 Corinthians 3:15-16

Jesus’ ability in our inability glorifies Him only.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;” 2 Corinthians 4:7

Remembering Jesus’ past deliverances sustains our hope in His present and future deliverances.

“For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:15

The ministry and message of the Church is reconciliation.

“Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,” 2 Corinthians 5:18
