Thoughts from the Week: 4/15/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

A person’s silence about Jesus will not impede the work of Yahweh’s Kingdom.

“For if you keep silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

A person’s hunger for Yahweh is evidenced by their hunger for His Word and humiliation in His worship.

“While they stood in their place, they read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.” Nehemiah 9:3

A person’s conduct influences all who know them for evil or good.

“For the queen’s conduct will become known to all the women so as to make their own husbands despicable in their sight, when they say, ‘King Ahasuerus commanded that Queen Vashti be brought in to his presence, but she did not come.’” Esther 1:17

The vengeance of the LORD reverses evil plans, thus returning them to their origin.

“But when it came to the king’s attention, he commanded by letter that his wicked scheme which he had devised against the Jews was to return on his own head, and that he and his sons were to be hanged on the wooden gallows.” Esther 9:25

Born-again believers in Jesus the Christ weep and call out to Him for relief because of the evil plans of men.

“Then Esther spoke again to the king, fell at his feet, wept, and pleaded for his compassion to avert the evil scheme of Haman the Agagite and his plot which he had devised against the Jews.” Esther 8:3

Jesus is the hook on which a born-again believer’s confidence and hope hang securely.

“Is your fear of God not your confidence, and the integrity of your ways your hope?” Job 4:16

In times of trouble there is no one to help like Jesus.

“With God are wisdom and might; He has counsel and understanding.” Job 12:13
