Thoughts from the Week: 4/1/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

Fear of Jesus makes it difficult to ask Him for advise.

“but David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the Lord.” 1 Chronicles 21:30

Jesus knows everything that is in a person’s heart

“then hear from heaven Your dwelling place and forgive and render to each whose heart You know, according to all his ways, for You, You only, know the hearts of the children of mankind,” 2 Chronicles 6:30

We might not personally accomplish all our desires for Jesus, but they will be accomplished.

“But the Lord said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart. Nevertheless, it is not you who shall build the house, but your son who shall be born to you shall build the house for My name.’” 2 Chronicles 6:8

When we have been joyously revived in our hearts, then we should expectantly anticipate a response from Jesus.

“Then the Lord appeared to Solomon in the night and said to him: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.’” 2 Chronicles 7:12

In the presence of Jesus my spirit is humbled in reverence.

“When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “For He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.” 2 Chronicles 7:3

Being a servant of Jesus is far better than being a servant of men.

“Nevertheless, they shall be servants to him, that they may know My service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.” 2 Chronicles 12:8

Yahweh’s goodness follows my humility.

“And when he humbled himself the wrath of the Lord turned from him, so as not to make a complete destruction. Moreover, conditions were good in Judah.” 2 Chronicles 12:12
