Thoughts from the Week: 2/11/22

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

If I am to be a follower of Jesus then I must imitate His heart-felt benevolence.

“You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress. As the Lord your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.” Deuteronomy 15:14

The first step in confrontation is to seek peace.

"“When you draw near to a city to fight against it, offer terms of peace to it.” Deuteronomy 20:10

God expects the fulfillment of all our commitments to Him.

“If you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin.” Deuteronomy 23:21

There are things of God which I do not know, but what I do know I am to obey.

”The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29

The Lord goes before me to prepare my way.

“The Lord your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the Lord has spoken.” Deuteronomy 31:3

The faithfulness and surety of the Lord rests on each born again believe.

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life.  Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.  I will not leave you or forsake you.” Joshua 1:5

To follow the Lord one must exercise holiness in their life.

“And the Commander of the LORD’s army said to Joshua ‘Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.’  And Joshua did so.” Joshua 5:15
