Thoughts from the Week: 12/10/21

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

The Holy Spirit is the connector of the Mind of Christ with the mind of believers to conduct His thoughts and ways into the soul of believers.

“But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.” 1 Corinthians 6:17

Complete unity of the Body of Christ is accomplished only through the perfect union of individual members with Jesus by the Holy Spirit’s transforming work.

"I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.” John 17:23

There are no words to describe or explain the joy a born-again believer experiences when united with Jesus through faith.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,” 1 Peter 1:8

The majestic glory of God is unimaginable and indescribable.

“From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings[ and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God, and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal.  And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind:” Revelation 4:5-6

The things of this world can deceive me of my need for Jesus.

“For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17

Born-again believers are clothed in righteousness and claimed by Jesus.

“The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.” Revelation 3:5

Faith in Jesus cannot coexist with false doctrine, lies, and deceit.

“But I have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality. So also you have some who hold the teaching of the Nicolaitans.” Revelation 2:14-15
