Thoughts from the Week: 12/3/21

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

The work of the ministry is accomplished for the glory of Jesus.

And not only that, but he has been appointed by the churches to travel with us as we carry out this act of grace that is being ministered by us, for the glory of the Lord himself and to show our good will.” - 2 Corinthians 8:19

The presence and glory of Yahweh is available for all who believe.

"And they brought what Moses commanded in front of the tent of meeting, and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.  And Moses said, ‘This is the thing that the LORD commanded you to do, that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.’” - Leviticus 9:5-6

Filled with the Spirit, the glory of Jesus radiates in the life of a born-again believer.

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.” - Isaiah 60:2

Walking in the Spirit is a life of patient assurance.

"Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.” - James 5:7

Born-again believers live in eager anticipation of Jesus’ return.

so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. - Hebrews 9:28

Jesus gently holds the soul of each person who believes in Him.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. - John 10:27-28

Because Jesus loves us, therefore we love Him.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39
