Thoughts from the Week: 11/19/21

Each Friday, I like to share some thoughts, learnings, and reflections from my quiet times during the week. I hope they’re encouraging and helpful!

Be blessed this week,

Pastor Hugh

To stand firmly with the Lord is to stand firmly on His Word.

“Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” - Joshua 22:5

The Gospel of Jesus the Christ is the central truth of a born-again believer’s life.

"Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.” - 1 Corinthians 15:1-2

The joy of the Lord is the joy of life.

“Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.” - Psalm 33:1

The love of the Lord satisfies a believer’s soul.

"Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” - Psalm 90:14

Repentance, revival, and refreshing are experienced in the presence of Jesus.

“Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,” - Acts 3:19-20

The Lord leads His disciples with compassion and care.

“You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.” - Exodus 15:13

A person’s security in life is found in the precious love of the Lord.

“How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” - Psalm 36:7
